Plastic surgery arrives on campus

Chinanews, Beijing, Sept.1 (By Huang Zhaohuan) - "Wow, haven't seen you
in one semester and you have turned into a beauty!" "How come I never
realized you are so strikingly beautiful?" These are the most overheard
conversations between students who run into each other on campus after
summer vacation.
Summer vacation was intended to be a period for stressed-out students to
relax and get away from heavy schoolwork but has turned into the best
time for students to seek "metamorphosis". In today's increasingly
advanced scientific and technological time, it is no longer myth for ugly
ducklings to reborn as a white swan.
Many female students undergo plastic surgery during vacations to realize
their dreams of beauty in a short span of time. Some go to the operating
room to become of the look alike of their favorite actresses, feeling it
is normal to resemble a movie star in spirit. A prestigious educational
institution's English major explained that many of her best friends have
done similar procedures.
A well known senior plastic surgeon in Beijing also pointed out that it
has become commonplace for students to seek his services and they tend to
come as a group. They mostly said they saw the relatively good results of
their fellow students who had undergone plastic surgery, making it an
"infectious" procedure.
