Seabed tunnel in China going smoothly

After two months of construction, the first seabed tunnel with a large
cross section, Xiamen Xiang'an Tunnel, had its Wutong segment in the east
tunnel mark an appearance on Nov. 2. The Xiang'an tunnel measured 5.9 km
in total length, with 3.2 km across the sea. Currently the hole which has
already begun digging is over one km under the sea surface. The side
slope and front slope, covered with cement protection walls, have taken
shape.
