Daqing Hi-tech Industry Development Zone

Daqing Development Zone was broken ground formally on Apr 10th, 1992, and
was approved to be national new and high-tech development zone on Nov 9,
at the same year. It is one of the 53 national key development zones. The
planned area of the zone is 16 square kilometers, and now it has been
exploited areas of 3.5 square kilometers.
In January 1995, national science committee approved to set up Hongwei
Chemical Industry Zone (4 square kilometers) and Xinghua Chemical
Industry Zone (3.5 square kilometers) in the area of Daqing Petroleum
Management Bureau and Daqing Petrochemical Industry Head Factory. So it
has formed development pattern of "one body with two wings".
The new-established zone has completed infrastructure facilities such as
water, heat, gas and power supply, road, communications, sewage, drainage
and land leveling, and has possessed various functions such as industry,
technology, finance, synthesis service etc. It has had the ability of
setting up high-tech enterprises of various types and scales.
Since 1992, the economy of Daqing Development Zone has been developed
forward stably. By the end of 1997, Daqing development zone has achieved
RMB7.214 billion of gross industrial output value , RMB9.731 billion of
revenue on technology, industry and trade, RMB1.344 billion of profit and
tax altogether. Now it has become the leading industrial area in Daqing
City.
